We've rolled out a handful of updates across FARMap, each one shaped by what producers told us would make recording the day-to-day easier. Here's what's live and where each one earns it’s keep on your property.
Rainfall Charts - track every block on its own terms
You can now set up as many rainfall charts as you like, one for each farm or district, so you're recording the right data for the right country.
Say you run a home block in the high-rainfall hills and a second property out on the plains an hour west. Those two places see very different seasons and a single average rolls them into one number.
With a chart for each, you can watch how the western block is tracking against its own long-term pattern and time decisions like sowing or supplementary feeding to suit.
Agriculture Victoria's climate team has good background on how variable our seasons have become and a paddock-level record alongside that regional picture gives you a sharper read.
Multiple Treatments - log the whole muster in one go
Record several treatments against your paddocks and livestock at once. Picture a weaning muster where you're drenching, vaccinating and applying a backline in the same yarding: now you log all three together rather than entering them one by one between jobs.
That's worth a lot when the yards are full and you've a long day ahead. It keeps your treatment history complete too, which counts when you're tracking withholding periods or pulling records together for LPA. This one's been on web and Android for a while and iPhone now matches.
Chemical Inventory - know what's in the shed
A chemical list is now on web and Android, with iOS updates also available from mid June. Edit the list to keep your quantities on hand current, so ahead of spray season you can check the shed against the job in front of you and order what you need with time to spare.
A quick look before you head to town can save the second trip back for the drum you thought you had. It also supports the chemical use records every operation is expected to keep.
Livestock Numbers - edit straight from the details screen
You can now update livestock numbers right in the livestock details screen, including deaths and missing. Update either and your mob numbers adjust on their own and you can still set mob numbers separately when you'd rather.
